On the Edge: Do Bush Schools Measure Up?
I co-wrote and co-reported this six-part series with Kristan Kelly for The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner in 1997. The project was funded by the Education Writers Association, which awarded the series a first prize that year. The series won the Benjamin Fine Award for Outstanding Education Reporting and the Public Service Award from the Alaska Press Club that year.
